We have exciting news from the 39th Annual Orange Peel Regatta on March 22-24! Some lucky skipper will win a Dieball Sailing Thistle BA-2 Jib at the Saturday Night Door Prize Extravaganza. As for all of the door prizes, you must be registered and sailing in the event and present during the drawings. Competition
Registrations are progressing nicely and you can see who is coming on the Participants page of the new website. At this time the competition is shaping up to be one of the strongest events of the year with the last 3 National Champions (Terhune, Dieball and Ingham) as well as some who have finished runner up (Kaukeinen, S. Griffin, Abdullah, G. Griffin) already registered. Check out all the registrants on the Participants page on the new website!
Accommodations
If you plan to book a room, they are filling up fast in the nearest area at US 17 and I-295 due to a soccer tournament. I was able to arrange for a reduced regatta rate at the Country Inn and Suites just one exit west at SR 21 and I-295 of $81/night on a King Studio (King Bed and Pull out sofa) or $99/night for a King Suite(King Bed in one room and Sleeper sofa in separate living room) Suites (904-772-7771) (Mention Orange Peel). Check out the NOR for other options. The good news is that we are still taking housing requests and have house well over half of the participants for a number of years.
