Plans are progressing for the 39th Annual Orange Peel Regatta on the weekend of March 22-24. I am busy lining up the yachts for the Sunset Cruise on Friday night as well as getting the housing volunteers in place. Another of the highlights of the event has been the imagery of renowned photographer J.H. Peterson who has put the Peel on his list of “March Midwinters Madness” for this year! On the coaching front, I have commitments from Skip Dieball and Paul Abdullah of Dieball Sailing as well as Coach TCA founder and US Sailing President Tom Hubbell. These experts and others will be on hand to help out with Coach TCA Concentrate on Friday the 22nd. If you haven’t been able to make it to the Peel yet, talk to someone who has or simply read about all of the fun in one of the Bagpipe articles. This regatta has something for everyone! Whether your interest is top-level competition, learning to sail faster, enjoying a cruise on a motor yacht or chowing down on some great Southern food, you will not be disappointed. Check out the website for the schedule, a great video from 2011 and further information. Registration will open very soon. Shoot me an email if you have any questions or I can help you get here.
